We’ve added a built-in sitemap to every SmartDirectoryAI site to help improve SEO and make your directories easier for search engines to crawl.
What’s New
A sitemap is now automatically generated for your site.
It’s always available at:
The sitemap includes:
- All pages
- All business listings
- All blog posts
- All news posts
- All events
- All job posts
Why This Matters
A sitemap helps search engines (like Google) discover and index your site’s content faster and more completely — which means more visibility for your directory and the businesses listed on it.
No Setup Required
This feature is built-in and works automatically. You don’t need to configure anything — just share your sitemap URL with Google Search Console (or other SEO tools) if you want to speed up indexing.
We’ve added a powerful new way to sell Premium Plans on your SmartDirectoryAI site. Now you can connect any external checkout system, instead of requiring Stripe.
What’s New
- You can now create Premium Plans and link the checkout button to any external checkout page (PayPal, ThriveCart, SamCart, WooCommerce, etc.).
- Dedicated fields are available for both Monthly Checkout Links and Annual Checkout Links, so you can offer multiple billing options seamlessly.
⚠️ Important Note
External checkouts do NOT automatically:
- Upgrade the listing to Premium
- Trigger the “Listing Upgraded to Premium” workflow
After a customer completes checkout externally, you’ll need to:
- Manually set the business to the appropriate Premium Listing Plan.
- Manually add the business contact to the “Listing Upgraded to Premium” workflow (if desired).
This feature gives you the flexibility to use any checkout provider you prefer, while still offering premium upgrades on your directory.

Details:
- Created a complete visual flowchart outlining Outreach, Claiming, and Add New Business processes.
- Documented verification, approval, and rejection pathways for all listing types.
- Introduced clear differentiation between business-driven and consumer-driven entries.
- Improved internal verification steps to reduce spam or low-quality submissions.
- Added automated communication touchpoints for each stage of the process.
Impact:
This update improves onboarding clarity, ensures consistent listing quality, and provides a step-by-step reference for both support staff and end-users.
We’ve released an updated snapshot to fix an issue with the “New Listing Added” workflow that was triggering unintended emails.
What was the issue?
Previously, the "New Listing Added" workflow was sending outreach emails encouraging people to claim their listing—even when the listing was submitted by the user themselves. This created confusion and a poor user experience.
What’s been fixed:
- Renamed the original workflow (which includes outreach emails) to "Free Listing Outreach"
- Created a new workflow "New Listing Added" designed specifically for users who add their own listings. This includes a confirmation email, not a claim prompt.
- Updated app logic to ensure the new "New Listing Added" workflow only fires when a user adds their own listing from the front end of your SmartDirectoryAI site.
The "Free Listing Outreach" workflow now requires manual enrollment—giving you full control over who receives claim reminder emails.
How to get the update:
- Head to your Members’ Area and open the Importing & Loading Your SmartDirectoryAI Snapshot topic.
- Follow this video tutorial to update your snapshot without overwriting existing data.
What’s new in the updated snapshot:
Email Templates:
- New Listing Added (confirmation email)
Workflows:
- New: Free Listing Outreach
- Modified: New Listing Added
This update ensures that your automations provide a smoother, more personalized experience for both prospects and users alike.
We have updated the process for consumers claiming and adding listings. Previously, consumers had to provide a second email address in order to claim a listing—they could not use the same email attached to that listing.
Now, if the consumer attempts to use the same email that is already attached to the business listing, the system will append +user to their email address. This ensures that HighLevel treats the consumer and business contacts as two separate contacts, while still delivering all emails to the user's single inbox.
For example, if you have a listing called
Bob's Ice Cream Shop
with email [email protected], and then Bob comes to claim his listing and signs up with the same email, SmartDirectoryAI will automatically update the consumer contact email to [email protected], while leaving the business contact as is.
